From Best to Wurst

The local cyclocross season opened with Best Cross in September at Lady Bird Johnson Park. The WurstCross, held this past weekend in New Braunfels, was the final event for the Austin Cyclocross series. Andrew Joy was back at it and finished 5th in the Cat 4/5 race, one of his best performances of the season. He almost gained on 3rd place before crashing and falling back to 5th. The Texas Cyclocross Championship races will be held in San Antonio December 22 - 23.

Elvia and Alberto Rodriguez also raced this weekend - a 10 and 20 miler on foot. The Battle of Leon Creek was the 4th and final event of the Alamo Beer Challenge series. Elvia ran the 20 miler, and placed 5th in her age group. Alberto ran the 10 miler and placed 4th in his age group.
