The Summer Cross Country Training Plan is for high school and collegiate runners who want a structured plan to help them build a base before their fall cross country season. This plan includes different mileage options depending on the ability level of the athlete.

 

Plan Overview

  • For high school and college age runners
  • Plan options of 20-60 miles a week depending on ability
  • Emphasis on skill development and running mechanics, strength training, mobility, & force generation.
  • The plan begins with mostly easy running and some skill development before progressing to short tempos and then longer tempos by the end of the summer.

 

Required Equipment

  • GPS smart watch
  • Access to basic strength & mobility equipment (stretch cords, free weights)
