Weekend Recap | August 8

Finishing an Ironman 70.3 distance event isn't easy. Finishing an Ironman 70.3 11 months after being hit by a car is even less easy. Jorge Garcia has never been one to take the easy path in life and all his determination and resilience were on display this last weekend when he finished the Ironman 70.3 event in Boulder, Colorado. Last year, Jorge was training for his first Ironman when a car pulled out in front of him on a bike ride and he plowed head first into the side. He was knocked unconscious and had extensive head, neck, back, and rib injuries. His first words to his wife when he woke up in the hospital were, "you know this isn't going to stop me from riding my bike." It's been a long ride back but we are so, SO happy to see Jorge back in action. Congratulations on your race in Colorado, Jorge, and enjoy your little rest before the upcoming Ironman block of training!
