Four UTSA Tri Club and Paragon athletes raced at the Need for Speed Masters Swim meet this past weekend. Coach Annie Schawe swam the 1650 in a time of 22:09 and qualified for Nationals! Isabella Beltri, Andrew Logsdon, and Octavio Viramontes competed in various events, and Logsdon and Viramontes also qualified for Nationals. The Masters National Championship is right here in San Antonio, and it is the U.S. Masters Swimming's 50th anniversary. More than 2,000 swimmers are expected to compete in this historic meet, April 23-26.
Carlos Torres has now joined the dirt scene, racing his mountain bike at the Dirt in Your Shoe Du. The duathlon at Magnolia Hill Ranch in Navasota featured a 2-mile trail run, 8-mile bike, and another 2-mile trail run. Torres finished 6th Overall and 1st in Age Group!
Running long and hard on Sunday, Paragon athletes Sanaa Cody, Michel Kuri, and Justin McKenzie raced the Austin Half Marathon. Justin Nix raced the marathon.
