There were a handful of athletes on the closed roads this weekend racing for Team paragon. Our brief hail storm didn't derail any of the races (as far as we are aware), and hopefully nobody's property, but it did bring in some cooler temps - it actually feels like Spring again. Read about our athletes' accomplishments below and get outside and enjoy the temps while they last. I'm sure it won't be long until the heat is back!
Vintage Park Half Marathon
Leslie Meech ran this half in Houston on April 14th. She's in the middle of her marathon training plan with Coach Mark, and she crushed her race, finishing in 2:24:24! She ran 8 minutes faster last weekend than her Rock N' Roll Half this past December. Consistency in training is definitely paying off, and we know she will continue to improve and achieve her goals for the Light at the End of the Tunnel Marathon in June.
Fiesta Mission 10k
Several of our Paragon ladies ran this 10k here in town with impressive results.
April Smith was 2nd in her age group, Sanaa Cody took 1st in the masters division despite all the stress tax season is brining her (she's an accountant by the way!), and Emi Furuya won the race overall for the female division coming in at a speedy 44:02!
Texas State Sprint Triathlon
Fernando Sanchez and Alfonso and Jacob Campa represented Team Paragon at this race in San Marcos. This race brings a unique swimming experience as it takes place at the Meadows Center, formerly Aquarena Springs. But don't let the beauty of the swim fool you as the last leg of this race has some crushing climbs. However, our guys performed well and Fernando took 14th in his age group, Alfonso earned 4th, and Jacob raced his way to the podium receiving 3rd place in his age group!
