Age: 43
Occupation: Yes
Do you have a coach? Yes, Amy!!
How long have you been swimming, cycling, running, and/or doing triathlons?
I have been a runner all my life and competed as a mid-distance sprinter into my junior year in college. Started dabbling in triathlons in 2014- just sprints. Focused on yoga teacher training and building my small business. Got back to racing and then got serious about endurance triathlon about 3 years ago.
What aspects of training and/or racing do you enjoy most?
I love cycling!! I don’t look forward to a 5 hour ride lol but it is the discipline I have learned to love them most and have consistently gotten stronger at it through discipline. And since I am such a goal oriented overachiever I love getting all green in training peaks!
What has been your favorite training or racing event, and why?
I loved racing Oregon 70.3 this year. First time I just went out and had so much fun! But New Zealand World Championships was pretty darn fantastic all around!
What is your favorite post-workout or race meal?
My death row meal is an amazing cheeseburger!! I prefer salty after a long training day.
What is one recent accomplishment you are proud of?
My yoga studio just celebrated its 5 year anniversary! Super proud of making it this far as a small woman owned business!
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Be a triathlon coach!
What is something no one knows about you?
I’m a pretty open book but I am a pretty good baker. I have a sweet tooth as does my husband so it’s a perk to like baking.
Why do you race/train?
I race and train because I can. I enjoy competition and seeing my body show up in ways for me I never thought it could. I also love the community in triathlon. Your people keep you going.
