Meet Annie Schawe. Annie has been coaching with Paragon Training for 2 years, for the Gold Group in Paragon's USA Swim Club and for Paragon's Summer Running Camp. We love her motto: Git Gud.
Age: 20
Grade or occupation: Senior in college, Paragon Coach for our USA Swim Club and the Summer Running Camp
How long have you been swimming, cycling, running, or doing triathlons? I have been swimming for about 13 years, since I was seven. I started off in summer league. I have been doing triathlon for 3 years, since I joined the UTSA Triathlon Club. And I survived a duathlon last month!
Why do you like doing triathlons? It's always been about being around the people. I've always loved being a part of team, whether the high school swim team or the collegiate club. I think of them as my family.
What has been your most proud moment as a coach? After my first year coaching with Paragon, we had the end-of-the-year party for the swim team. Mark talk about Luke, JD, and then me for coaching Gold... and everyone cheered loudly for me (louder than the silver group for JD). I was proud of that.
Favorite post-workout or race meal: Steak.
What do you want to be when you grow up? Park ranger!
What is something no one knows about you? Think I'm going to tell YOU?! Just kidding... If no one knows it, I don't want it to be known.
Make sure to send your pictures from training and racing to: racing@paragontraining.org so we can showcase all the rad stuff you guys do.
