Meet our December Athlete Spotlight, Caleb Manifold. Caleb has been on Paragon Training's swim team for 6 years now, but he started swimming at a young age. He's evidently very comfortable in the water!
How long have you been swimming? I’ve swam in summer league since I was about 5 years old, but I’ve only been swimming ‘competitively’ for the last 3 or 4 years.
Why do you like swimming? It’s a fantastic workout and a ton of fun.
What is your favorite event? Probably the 100 free. I’m a sprint kind of guy and I prefer shorter distance events where I can burn out all my energy quickly. As Coach Mark likes to say: suffer faster, not longer.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I have no idea. My life plan seems to change all the time.
Favorite post-workout or race meal: Pizza, for sure. Knowing that I’ll get to have pizza after a meet or hard practice is what motivates me to get through it.
What is one recent accomplishment you are proud of? Getting my Tactical First Aid certification.
Tell us something no one knows about you: I’ve probably played over 700 hours of Skyrim.
Make sure to send your pictures from training and racing to: firstname.lastname@example.org so we can showcase all the rad stuff you guys do.
